Vehicle Titling

To title a vehicle in South Dakota, each owner must provide a valid South Dakota driver’s license or ID. If you have an out-of-state ID, you must provide a clear photocopy of your Social Security number in addition to your ID. Businesses are required to provide their FEIN (Federal Employer Identification Number).

Important Note About Residency

If you live in Box Elder, your physical address might be located in either Pennington County or Meade County. South Dakota residents must register their vehicles in the county of their residence.
