The Pennington County Fire Service Board is a volunteer board, serving without compensation. The FSB represents the volunteer fire departments with input from the Pennington County Board of Commissioners, Rapid City Fire Department, Pennington County Emergency Management, Ellsworth Air Force Base Fire Department, South Dakota Wildland Fire, and the US Forest Service.

- Fire Service Board Meetings are held seven times a year, on the second Wednesday of each month. Possible exceptions may occur due to holidays. (January, March, May, July, September, November, December)
- Meetings begin promptly at 7:00 pm (1900), with a light meal being served at 6:30 pm.
- In compliance with South Dakota's Open Meetings Law a draft FSB meeting agenda, including date, time, and location, is posted a Thursday that precedes the meeting date.
- Draft meeting minutes are posted on this website after each meeting and updated once they have been approved at the next FSB meeting.
