Pennington County Jail employs a full time medical staff.

• A Registered Nurse is on-call 24 hours a day 7 days a week for medical attention.
• A Physician's Contract provides clinics twice a week for inmates.
• A dentist's contract is also in place for dental care.
• The Mental Health Contract provides for a Master's level counselor to be at the facility 40 hours per week, with the provision of 24 hour on-call service as needed, to address confinement and coping skills.
• The Mental Health Contract is with the Core Services Provider in the area and allows extended services with psychologists and psychiatrists, as needed.
