2025 Special Olympics Polar Plunge - Fire vs Law Enforcement

When:

Upcoming Events

Hello everyone,

We are only 13 days away from this year’s plunge. Team Fire Department took the lead this week and it looks like they have 10 jumpers on their team. Holy smokes!!!! Something tells me that they probably took an anonymous donation for saving a cat in a tree to get ahead this week. 😊

Team Law Enforcement only has 6 jumpers on their team but the donations are still coming in. There is still a ton of room for more jumpers on both teams. I hope the teams are in communications about costume ideas for the losing team!

You still have time to donate your $100.00!

INCENTIVES

A few businesses reached out to the Special Olympics and offered some great incentives for this event.

  • Anyone who donates $50.00 or more to the Polar Plunge will receive $50.00 off a detail at Rapid Detailers (expires May 1st 2025). Just show proof of donation!
  • Cool Cryo will donate 8 free cold plunges/cold therapy sessions to each plunger this year leading up to the event ($295.00 Value). Just show proof of donation!

Have a great week and stay warm!

It’s that time of year! Time for the 2025 Special Olympics Polar Plunge!! Last year’s event was a HUGE success and we are hoping to make this year’s event even better. The Polar Plunge is the ONLY event that most money raised stays here in Rapid City and supports local athletes.

This year’s event is Hawaiian themed and we are excited to announce that Chrissy’s Island Grill (food truck) will be attending. They will be donating 50% of the total sales and all tips to the event. So, be sure to come HUNGRY!

This year’s Challenge will be Fire VS Law Enforcement.

Here is how it works:

  1. Pick the team you wish to support (Team Law Enforcement or Team Fire Department)
  2. Donate your money to that team.
  3. The team with the LEAST money raised will take the plunge this year.
  4. But wait there is more ... the winning team will pick an amazing costume for the losing team to wear for this year’s plunge.
