Free - Hill City SD - S290 – Intermediate Wildland Fire Behavior

This course has an extensive "Pre-work" requirement that is due prior to class!

South Dakota Wildland Fire will be hosting a S290 – Intermediate Wildland Fire Behavior 

**This second course in the series collectively serves to develop fire behavior prediction knowledge and skills, and provides more detailed information on fuels, weather, and topography that affect wildland fire behavior for safety purposes.**

This curriculum was finally updated in 2025 and is now only two days but does have a fair amount of online pre-work due before class. 

This class is required to become a single resource boss such as Engine Boss, Crew Boss, or Firing Boss.
