South Dakota Certified Instructor’s course (Pierre, SD) - Nominations due by Oct. 3
When:South Dakota Certified Instructor’s Course
v The date and location of the next South Dakota Certified Instructor’s course has been set for December 13th & 14th in Pierre, SD at Station #1.
v If you and/or someone from your department are interested in attending, there are several prerequisites that are required to attend:
- The candidate(s) must be nominated in writing or email by you, to the Deputy Fire Marshal, Mike Jones by 5:00 pm on October 3rd, 2025, this will ensure that the student(s) will have ample time to prepare for their individual presentations and receive their course materials. Please include a current email address for each nominated candidate.
- The candidate(s) must have been a member of a fire department for at least five years.
- The candidate(s) must have passed the Certified Firefighter Course with at least an 80% on both written tests. (Test results will be verified by the Fire Marshal’s Office.)
v Once a candidate receives written acceptance from our office to attend this course, you and/or your Candidate(s) will need to contact the South Dakota Redbook Fund to acquire the course materials. The cost to attend this two-day course is $80.00. Payment will be made to The Redbook Fund. v The first 20 students will be accepted for this class.
