Bridge Replacements and Rehabilitations

Deadwood Avenue, North
Rapid City and Pennington County will participate in a joint project to reconstruct Deadwood Avenue from I-90 to the Meade County Line. Construction on the Pennington County portion of the project is scheduled to be completed in 2025. Map of project area
Radar Hill Road and Highway 1416 Intersection
Pennington County is working with the SDDOT on the reconstruction of the intersection of Radar Hill Road and Highway 1416. The proposed design will include street lights. KLJ Engineering is currently designing the project. The construction timeline is unknown.
Rochford Road, South
Pennington County is working with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), in cooperation with the South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) to do transportation improvements for approximately ten (10) miles of South Rochford Road, between the Town of Rochford and its intersection with Deerfield Road. Construction is scheduled for 2023-2025. The project is considered necessary to improve year-round access to the Town of Rochford from the Deerfield Lake area. The existing roadway is difficult to maintain with gravel surfaces, steep grades, and drainage issues. Plans

The Pennington County Board of Commissioners has awarded the following projects for 2025:
- Asphalt Concrete Overlay approximately 1.39 miles of Universal Drive; estimated cost $332,112.44. Map of the project area
